Happy (Belated) Holidays!

Happy Holidays To All!

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. We had a great time at Davis Farms, eating tons of food and hanging out with the young volunteers and the older elders! The young folks went out in the rain to explore the farm, and we elders sat with Naomi around the fire and reminisced about younger days and then expressed gratitude for being warm and dry!

Come and see us when you can, and come down to the Mulberry Street Market in Macon on Wednesday from 3:30 to 6:30 and support your local growers. Thank you all!

Lots of Love,
Debbie

Goats are coming, need a pony!

Thanks to my friend Carole we have two milk goats, Artie and Dora, coming to live with us on the farm. Granddaughter Katie is excited and wants to ride them, but has requested a pony as well.

Many, many thanks ...

I'd like to extend a big thanks to all of our friends and supporters who came to the Mulberry Street Market last week. It was our most successful day ever and generated enough money to buy the insulation for the Creekside Cabin (AKA the Palace Flophouse and Grill AKA the PFG) among other things. Thanks again, and see you soon!

The Milledgeville Community Garden

I'll now be serving on the Milledgeville Community Garden Board!  I really want to get as many people involved in our local garden and clean-up efforts, so I encourage you to mark the following date on your calendar:

Monday, Jan. 16th - community-wide workday with many volunteers at the Milledgeville Community Garden (and other locations around town) beginning at 9 and continuing until 1 or so.  They provided lunch last year but rain shut us down, so let's hope for sunny weather. Let's all come out and work together to build a beautiful community!

New - Producer Only Market in Milledgeville!

Starting on January 14th, we will also be selling at the NEW Producer-Only (as in only growers, no resellers) Farmer's Market at the Presbyterian Church in Milledgeville! It'll happen on the Second Saturdays of January (14), February (11), and March (10), and then in March it will become a weekly market. I am SO excited about this!

Assorted breads from our wood-fired cob oven.

Creekside Cabin Construction

I'm really on a roll with the alliterations today (see the Glorious Garden Greenery post for more alliterative delights). Here are a few shots of Nate Lloyd Wright and Company building the creekside retreat (which Michael has tentatively named "The Palace Flophouse and Grill" for all you Steinbeck afficionados). The PFG was built almost completely with donated materials!

We use only the highest technology to design our schematics.

You have to hold your mouth just right ...

Please, stop the violence.

Un Jeung, Aliza, and Nate - some days you step in the cob; some days you jump in it.

Glorious Garden Greenery

Here are some pics of the garden.

Where to start?

This looks delicious!

Mulchmaster Matt, the Milledgeville Mulch Maestro (how's that for an alliteration?)

Jelly Elephant's Saturday Night Music Jam

It's guaranteed to be the most happening soirée in Gordon, GA. Check it out:

How many people can fit on Janet's short bus? Quite a few - some more adept at posing than others.

From construction to percussion, he's your guy.

Shindig status? In full swing.

Georgia Organics Conference

By hook and by crook I've finagled a scholarship to attend Plow Forward - the 15th Annual Georgia Organics Conference, taking place February 24 and 25 in Columbus. If you're unfamiliar with it, the conference is a wonderful, inspiring experience. Click on over to their website here; I strongly recommend that you attend if at all possible.
